What to Expect

New Visitors

To ensure your safety, comfort and well-being are the highest priority, we do not allow first time clients to book online through our scheduler site as massage or bodywork may not be appropriate in some conditions and/or may require a written physician approval. Please contact us directly so we may recommend and customize the treatment best suited for you. Once we schedule your appointment, a confidential health history/client consent form will be emailed to you through our secure scheduler site. This must be completed honestly and submitted as prompted before your session. Please feel free to contact us for any questions, concerns or needed clarifications.

Essential Policies

The following policies are intended to create a mutually respectful environment between our clients and SPIRITED LLC. By scheduling an appointment with us, you imply that you agree to abide by our policies.

In order to reserve your appointment at the time of scheduling, we may require a credit card number.  If the policies below are not honored, we will do our best to contact you to verify your reasons before charging your card, emailing you an invoice, or using one of your prepaid packages as payment which will no longer be available to use.  All future services will be denied until payment is made.

Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.  This allows someone else the opportunity to schedule an appointment.  If the required notice of cancellation is not given, you will be charged the full amount of your cancelled appointment and future services will be denied until payment is made.

We understand that sometimes unforeseen events occur beyond our control within the 24 hour time frame, however, please still contact us as soon as possible.  Depending on the situation, your fee may be adjusted or waived.

If you forget or consciously choose to forgo your appointment, it will be considered a "no-show". No shows will be charged the full amount for their missed appointment and future services will be denied until payment is made.

Your appointment is important yet so are the appointments scheduled after yours.  If you are more than 15 minutes late without notice, it will be considered a no-show and charged accordingly.  Depending upon your arrival, your therapist will do their best to accommodate you within the remaining time of your scheduled appointment.  Regardless of the treatment time given, you will be charged for the "full" session.

Treatment for Minors

Minors 12 and older are welcomed only with a parent or guardian's written approval and presence at all times. Appointments are to be scheduled by the parent or guardian.

Forms of Payment

We accept cash, personal checks and major credit cards.  If your personal check is returned due to insufficient funds, a $35 returned check fee will be issued and future services will be denied until payment is made.

We do not offer insurance billing at this time.

Special Considerations

Please be aware that we are located on the second floor of a home outfitted as a salon and spa with individual treatment rooms. This facility is not equipped with an elevator and is not fully handicap accessible. Please contact us for possible options if this may be a concern.

Frequent Asked Questions

I’ve Never Had a Massage Before. What Should I Expect?

Since your comfort and safety are paramount, there are a few things to keep in mind. Before your session, you will need to complete a confidential health history/client consent form. As each massage is customized to your needs, it is important for you and your practitioner to communicate clearly to achieve a successful outcome. After reviewing the required forms and discussing your needs in a private treatment room, your practitioner will briefly leave so you can undress to your comfort level.

A typical full body session includes work on your back, shoulders, head, neck, arms, hands, legs and feet. Only the area being massaged will be exposed and these are never on or near your private areas. If at any time you feel uncomfortable or desire a different pressure, music option, extra blanket, etc. please let your practitioner know in order to make the adjustments best suited for you.

Afterwards, you and your practitioner will briefly discuss the session as well as the treatment plan and self care tips to promote your health and well-being.

How Often Should I Receive Massages?

Depending on your wellness goals and current conditions, it is recommended that you receive monthly treatments for general maintenance and well-being. Massage and bodywork not only feel great, but they play a vital role in reducing the effects of stress and help encourage relaxation, increase energy, improve concentration, maintain range of motion and revitalize the spirit.

Chronic conditions or injury recovery is best treated with weekly or bi-monthly massages to help promote healing, manage pain, increase joint flexibility, improve circulation and reduce anxiety associated with the condition or injury.

If It Doesn’t Hurt, It Didn’t Work...Right?

This is a common misconception. The purpose of massage is to relax the muscles and promote healing initiated through the parasympathetic nervous system. This system is responsible for lowering the heart rate, increasing blood and lymph flow and stimulating glandular and intestinal activity.

Anytime there is pain felt around the 5 out of 10 pain scale, the body will initiate the sympathetic nervous system and go into flight or fight.  This causes the body to tense up and no longer relax, creating resistance and more pain which is counterproductive to the very purpose you sought out massage and bodywork.

At SPIRITED LLC, your practitioner is trained to work with the nervous system, allowing your body's innate healing mechanisms to activate and provide a treatment that is both effective and relaxing.  Why suffer through more pain if you don't have to?

When Should I Not Receive a Massage?

Since your overall comfort, safety and well-being are important, there are times where massage and bodywork is not appropriate. Some contraindicated conditions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Fever, cold/flu, contagious viruses
  • Contagious skin infections
  • Under the influence of recreational drugs and alcohol
  • Uncontrolled high blood pressure and/or diabetes
  • Recent surgeries
  • Acute injuries with 72 hours
  • Acute flare ups associated with lupus, fibromalgia, migraines, shingles, etc.
  • Recent head or neck injuries, concussion
  • Recent stroke and/or heart attack

If in doubt, please error on the side of caution and contact us directly so we may recommend the treatment best suited for you. A written physician approval for massage and bodywork may need to be required before any treatment begins.

Do I Have to be Completely Undressed?

For massage and bodywork treatments, your practitioner will encourage you to undress to your level of comfort. In many cases, this means leaving your underwear on, yet removing your bra (if worn) so your practitioner can work the neck, shoulders & back more effectively. However, if that is not comfortable for you, your practitioner will gladly work with your desired preferences.

For Energy Healing/Reiki and Cranial Sacral treatments, it is not necessary for you to undress. These treatments are done while you are fully clothed.
